If you write about an event you did not witness yourself, you must make that crystal clear to the readers. You must provide an explanation for your description of an event you did not see.
Who saw it? Who described it to you? What evidence do you have that your source is telling the truth?
You need to make sure that the reader understands who or what was the source of your information.
