Flash Slideshow

The slideshow uses photos and sound to tell a story. The slideshow incorporates techniques explained in Chapters 7, 8, 9 and 10 in McAdams. It must be delivered in complete working condition on a CD by the deadline. The FLA must also be on the CD. The slideshow counts for 15 percent of your grade.

NOTE: If you're not a photographer yourself, consider working with a photojournalism student or a Fine Arts photography student. You need to get my permission IN ADVANCE if you will not be using your own photos, but I will be very happy to approve a strong photo story shot by another student -- if that's what you would like to use. DO NOT use someone else's work until AFTER you have shown it to me.

Requirements for the Slideshow

  1. The slideshow must tell a story.
  2. Do NOT use the movie design (layout, buttons) shown in the book. Create an original design for your slideshow.
  3. You MAY use ActionScript from the book or from the book's Web site.

Grading Criteria

Total: 15 points

*** "Poor photos" include amateur posed snapshots of your friends and family. This is NOT a scrapbook for your personal use. It is a portfolio piece for professional use, and it needs to look like one.

Meeting the deadline is necessary. Late assignments always receive a zero.
